TheĀ Ruth Darling Excellence in Advising Leadership Award recognizes outstanding achievement and longevity in advising leadership to a member who has served in an advising leadership role on campus for a minimum of 7 years (including directors, assistant directors, and associate directors).
Nominations for this award are welcome and encouraged for those who meet the above criteria. Nominations for this award must include a letter of nomination. This award is not given every year, as it is only given based on years of dedication and commitment to the advising community. Nominations can be sent to TennACADA at tennacada@utk.edu.
Criteria:
- Demonstrated commitment to improving advising practices and advocacy for advisors and/or the advising community
- Exemplifies a commitment to the field of academic advising and are true advocates for students and advisors across the institution
- Has made significant impacts on their unit, on campus, and/or in the field of advising
- Clearly embodies NACADA’s core values in their role as a leader
